Official School Song: Thanks & Please

The school song titled "Thanks and Please" was written by Phyllis Hosten and the music was composed by Patricia Bethany. The song was first  presented at Assembly on March 6, 1972 and later at the 90th Anniversary on September 18, 2006.

Lord of Life of youth and duty,
This our song we raise to you;
May our lives be things of beauty
All we think, or say, or do.
Teach us ever to remember,
Those blest gifts of health and home,

That we may our talents render
In your service as our own.

Bless this school in richest measure
Make us willing, patient, keen,
When at study, work or leisure,
Never to be false or mean,
Guard from ev’ry hurtful influence
Every child within its care;
Joy in striving, pride in achieving
Each aspiring free from fear.

Thank you Lord for ev’ry favour,
Present, past and yet to be:
Lives of loving service, labour
Truth inspiring, full and free.
Teach and train us up for living,
That we may reflect your grace:
To each generation giving,
When in turn we take out place.

‘every student is expected to take her academic studies seriously at all times;’ and  ‘every student should regard herself as a citizen of the Anglican High School Community, who live together, pooling and sharing their qualities of mind and character with a view to utilizing and developing the resources of their common habitation for the good of all.’
